What is the difference between an N95 mask and a KN95 mask?

Both types of masks offer a filtration efficiency rate of 95% to provide optimal protection against suspended particles. The only difference is in the certification of the standards. In Canada, N95 masks are typically used, but in case of shortage it is quite possible to use KN95 masks. The Government of Canada website also indicates that KN95 masks can also be used as an alternative.
